The entire east side of Zakynthos is a mountainous region. Here time stood still and life is untouched by tourism. Do not be surprised to see old men riding a donkey and women warring traditional outfits. Especially the village of Loucha is known for its beauty, hidden away in a futile valley.

The road leads through unspoiled scenery of abundant pine tree forests with rich flora and fauna. Everywhere are panoramic views, over high cliffs or over the plain of the island. Off the beaten track dirt paths are numerous and lead through rough nature far away from civilization. Especially with a 4x4 vehicle a day of exploring is guaranteed.
