The long stretch, of about 8 kilometres, from Crystal Beach to the port of Agios Sostis is the best place to have an extensive stroll on the beach. The flour-fine sand beaches of Crystal and Kalamaki are tidy and proper due to the cleaning by volunteers of the Sea Turtle Protection Society.

The water remains shallow for a long way out and is therefore an ideal place for families. A river divides Kalamaki and Laganas county, but it is possible to wade through and continue over Laganas beach. Suddenly the area gets very lively with lots of bars and restaurants for everyone’s choice. At the port of Agios Sostis, and in front of the small Cameo island, the beach ends after covering almost half of the bay of Laganas.
