Solomos and Kalvos museum
This museum stands on the square of Saint Markos and is dedicated to the famous Zakynthian poets Dionysios Solomos and Andreas Kalvos. Solomos is most known for writing the Greek national anthem. A collection of the poets manuscripts and personal objects are displayed. The building also acts as a mausoleum, the graves of both authors are to be found on the ground floor. The exhibits include also old portraits, photos, pictures and woodcrafts from the Byzantine period. More displays include furniture’s of the old season, and a rich collection of archaeological and folklore objects.
