As an island fishing is a natural way of existence. Every morning a fleet of fishing boats returns to the many little harbours of Zakynthos. On site the catch is sold. Sardines, swordfish, mullet, perch, mussels, octopus, squids, eel, crabs and lobsters are very common in the Ionian waters.
